The ‘Furano Harvest Festival’ began as a commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the drama ‘Kita no Kuni Kara.’

The venue is Hirottekita-ie (The House That Was Picked Up), which also appeared as a filming location in ‘Kita no Kuni Kara 2002: Last Will.’ On the day of the event, the facility will be open free of charge, offering a day to enjoy Furano’s rich harvest and the unique culture and charm of this region.

Under the slogans “Remember Goro’s Way of Life!” and SDGs, a variety of activities are planned, from stage events to crafts, product sales, local restaurants, and food trucks.

Stage Events

Enjoy a full lineup of entertainment for all ages, including powerful performances by the Furano Yaei Taiko Preservation Society, music by the Furano Wind Orchestra, and a ‘Kita no Kuni Kara’ quiz competition.

Additionally, there will be a Sincerity Pumpkin Weight-Guessing Contest and a Loud Voice Contest commemorating the 45th anniversary of ‘Kita no Kuni Kara.’

Crafts and Products Showcasing Furano’s Appeal

At the venue, you’ll find products that capture the essence of Furano, including handmade candles and dried flowers, Glass Forest’s shibare glass outlet sale, local vegetables, Ainu-pattern goods, and jams from Furano Jam Garden.

Boulangerie Raffi, Fujibayashi Shoten, carnival games, and more will also be on hand to add color to the event.
